Dzeni Teng first appeared before the camera as a young girl appearing on primetime television for Kidsworlds News a news program for kids by kids in Houston, Texas. She interviewed a gymnast with Olympic dreams. She never found out if the gymnast became an Olympian because her parents moved the family to North Carolina soon afterwards, but the experience of being on camera never left her.
This early experience made her dabble in the idea of becoming a reporter as an adult, but life constantly changes and she found herself in North Carolina studying European Politics and Southeast Asian Philosophy at Duke University in Durham. More education followed at UNC-Chapel Hill where she received a Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications.
While pursuing an education, She never gave up acting, appearing in "Household Saints" starring Tracey Ullman and several local television commercials. Most notably the "Dreams" hawaiin dancer for Southern Cadillac.
She followed her heart in 1994 and moved to Geneva, Switzerland for her Swiss husband, where she lived until June 2009.
While studying at Duke in 1990, Dzeni was an extra on Handsmaid Tale where she met Natasha Richardson. It was Natasha Richardson's tragic death in March 2009 that motivated Dzeni to make the life changes necessary to pursue the challenge of an acting career.
She is now back in the U.S. pursuing her dreams.
